The DEFENDER Security Platform was successfully tested and favourably evaluated on 30 January 2020 in the premise of ASM Terni S.p.A. in Terni, Italy.
The trial featured three main use case tests related to both cyber and physical attacks tackling:
- Human intrusion detection based on Smart Locks;
- Human intrusion detection based on Human In the Loop feedback;
- Detection of Cyber intruder access IT systems based on advanced network-based pattern matching.
To this end, virtual Perimeter Laser Security sensors, smart locks, next-generation smart metering, continuous network monitoring and security-oriented smartphone applications were employed to highlight the capability of the DEFENDER platform to combine all this information and successfully derive the security state of the Terni infrastructures and propose the most appropriate mitigations.
