During the 6th DEFENDER plenary meeting, the consortium had the chance to visit BFP and review part of the wind-energy park and a substation in Erchie pilot site .
On 12-13 June 2018, during the H2020 SUCCESS (“Securing Critical Energy Infrastructures”) project meeting in Athens, Greece, the activities of H2020 DEFENDER were presented.
During the afternoon session, Dr. K. Moulinos, Information security expert, European Union Agency for Network and Information Security (ENISA) presented the ENISA activities and had the chance to discuss details on the future of European Security.
DEFENDER 5th Plenary Meeting was hosted by Engineering in Rome on 16-17 April 2018.
The Consorium reviewed the project status and progress on all WPs. Moreover, progress at the Critical Energy Infrastructure Security Stakeholders Group (CEIS-SG) was discussed in details and next steps were planned.
On 18 February 2018, the DEFENDER project was presented by Dr. Denis Čaleta (ICS) in the National meeting of Sectorial CIP coordinators in Ministry of Defence Republic of Slovenia where was also made the Presentation of the content of the Critical Infrastructure Act. The DEFENDER project was presented at the European Parliament to Mrs. Eva Kaili. Beyond Member of the European Parliament, Mrs. Kaili is member of the European Parliament Committee on Industry, Research and Energy and chair of the European Parliament Delegation for relations with the NATO Parliamentary Assembly. Moreover, she is substitute of the European Parliament Subcommittee on Security and Defence.
The DEFENDER project was represented by Dr. M. Bertoncini, Project Manager and Dr. Theodore Zahariadis, Technical Manager.
The European Commission was represented by Project Officers Ms. Carmen IFRIM (DG CONNECT, Cybersecurity & Digital Privacy), Ms. Carla Rocha Gomes (REA, B4 Safeguarding Secure Societies) and Mr. Konstantinos Ntantinos (EC Directorate-General for Communications Networks, Content and Technology “Internet of Things” Unit).
